Muralist, painter and landscape painted Jane Berlandina Howard was born in France in 1898. She studied at Cours Vivaudy, Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs, and with Raoul Dufy and Bernard Naudin. After ultimately settling in San Francisco, California, she became a member of the San Francisco Artists Association. Her work has been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art. Her murals have graced the Paris International Expo, the San Francisco Opera House, San Francisco Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the 1939 Golden Gate Exposition, and the Stage Door Canteen in San Francisco.
